This 100 Year Old Trick Lights A Match In The Wind!
If you've ever tried to light a candle or a cigarette with a match outside, you'll know the perils that the wind can make for you.
As soon as you've lit your flame it's out - and you end up wasting almost an entire box. Not to mention your lighter keeps blowing out. Great.
Luckily, there IS a way to do it. You just have to be prepared.
If you know you'll be out in the wind, grab a few matches and using something sharp (like scissors, shave down the match towards the head, creating little shavings of wood that stick up.
If you're not so prepared, use your keys once you're out!
Doing this will ensure that the shavings curl in towards the flame once the match is lit and help to make the flame stronger, giving it a better chance of staying alight.
Or you know, there's always this way...
