Experts Say Humans Are VERY Close To Reaching Immortality

A futurologist based in the UK, Ian Pearson, has claimed that humanity is extremely close to uncovering the secret to immortality with predictions that it will be achieved by the year 2050.

Mr Pearson, previously a rocket scientist and IT engineer, has been making predictions about the future for a long time and is said to have an 85 percent success rate “when looking 10-15 years ahead”. His latest claim is that humans will inevitably overcome death.

It’s said that the secret to unlocking immortality in humans all comes down to recent advances in biomedical and computing technology. Mr Pearson believes that there are three possible ways that immortality may be reached.

1. Regenerative therapies

Imagine a world where cellular ageing could be prevented or reversed using gene editing tools or deteriorating organs and body parts could be replaced using 3D printers. This is how Mr Pearson sees the future.

“No one wants to live forever at 95 years old, but if you could rejuvenate the body to 29 or 30, you might want to do that,” said Mr Pearson to The Sun.

2. Android bodies

Mr Pearson sees this method as the most likely in enabling humans to reach mortality, involving the creation of sophisticated brain-computer interfaces that link a person’s brain to an operating system.

“A long time before we get to fix our bodies and rejuvenate it every time we feel like, we’ll be able to link our minds to the machine world so well, we’ll effectively be living in the cloud,” he said.

3. Perhaps the most obscure - Moving into the matrix

Just like Neo in the movie The Matrix, Mr Pearson says that eventually we will be able to live in a simulated version of reality.

Apparently this concept has actually been popular for a while amongst followers of the Transhumanist movement.

Although this idea seems extremely obscure and the most unlikely, Mr Pearson has claimed that at the rate of technological innovation this prediction could be possible 50 years in the future.

So if all of this ends up becoming possible and scientist find a way to make us immortal, would you do it?
