CostCo Have Just Announced Something HUGE And We Cannot Wait
Costco have announced they are making their first move into home delivery… but have told Australian customers not to get their hopes up.
CostCo charge a yearly membership fee to shop atits stores and has teamed up with delivery company Shipt in the US in Florida ahead of a wider rollout.
The retailer is planning to attract over 30 million households but the end of this year and says “Everyone’s looking to save time and get more out of less time. With Shipt in particular, people love the service and the quality of the experience,” Costco chief executive Bill Smith said.
“As we continue to scale Shipt on a national level, we look forward to offering more options for delivery to our Florida members today, and to Shipt members across the country in the future.”
Shipt does not operate in Australia but in the states, will charge users $99 annually for an unlimited delivery, which will allow users to have products delivered to their homes within an hour.
Mr Smith said the Costco aimed to deliver mostly three to four miles from stores. “If you order ice cream from us, we’ll deliver it directly to you,” he said.
When asked if Australian customers will get a similar service, Costco Australia managing director Patrick Noone said: “Not at this time.”
