Mötley Crüe's Vince Neil Charged With Alleged Assault

Vince Neil has been charged with misdemeanor battery following an April incident in which the Mötley Crüe frontman allegedly assaulted an autograph seeker in Las Vegas.

The story, originally reported by TMZ, has been confirmed to Rolling Stone magazine by Officer Michael Rodriguez of the Las Vegas Police Department.

The incident allegedly set off a fight between Neil and actor Nicholas Cage.

"A female was attempting to talk to or get an autograph from Mr. Cage," Rodriguez tells the pop culture magazine. "Mr. Neil subsequently pulled her down to the ground by the hair." The incident was caught on surveillance video, according to TMZ.

Afterwards, Cage and Neil reportedly got into a physical fight outside the hotel.

If convicted, Neil could face six months in prison.

Neil's first scheduled court appearance is on July 27.

In 2011, Neil was charged with battery and disorderly conduct stemming from an incident with an ex-girlfriend at a theatre. Neil avoided jail time after he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.
