Apple Pay Tribute To David Bowie In The Cutest Possible Way
Ground control to Major Tom...the late David Bowie now officially has his own emoji.
The latest iOs update for iPhone features 'male and female singer' emojis based on the cover of the late David Bowie's 1973 album, Aladdin Sane.
According to Emojipedia, the "singer" emoji is among 16 new professions being added to the keyboard and features both a male and female versions. The update comes following a push to promote gender equality through emoji.
I think David Bowie may have been disappointed in both a male and female version of his emoji instead of a single androgynous one.— Nate Heagy (@nheagy) November 2, 2016
The Bowiemoji isn't the only exciting new emoji to hit our keypads, other popular additions include an Avocado (finally!) and the Face Palm.
We're not sure what David would think about be glorified via ‘Bowiemoji’, but clearly his wife Iman is a fan. She recently took to Twitter to re-tweet news of the update.
