Culture Club Start World Tour In Adelaide

Culture Club kicked off their first world tour in 16 years Monday night.

With a dozen people on stage in Adelaide, including all four founding members from their '80s heyday  they mixed classic material with covers. Included was a reggae version of Bread's "Everything I Own" which was Boy George's first solo hit in 1987. They also performed the '60s British hit "The Crying Game" covered by Boy George in the '90s for the film of the same name.

Although their crowd-funded album Tribes remains unreleased, they previewed several songs from the project. Opening with their hit "Church of the Poison Mind," George and the band rolled through 20 songs - capping the encore with their take on David Bowie's "Starman."

Culture Club play Perth tonight, Melbourne on Friday, Sydney on Saturday and Sunday and Brisbane next Tuesday.

After touring Australia, the Philippines and Mexico, Culture Club play their first U.S. show on July 5th at the Hard Rock in Orlando, Florida.
