MKR’s “Cheaters” Hit Back Over Claims
They were labelled “cheaters” in last night’s episode of My Kitchen Rules, but Queensland couple Alyse and Matt are saying otherwise.
The couple were pulled up by Pete Evans for using curry paste in their main course, with the chef forcing them to show the other contestants the ingredient.
Earning them a one out of 10 from the judges, the dismal score saw the couple land in the elimination cook off against Josh and Amy.
However, despite Evans scolding, the couple say it was no different to what the other teams were doing.
“Other contestants have used all manner of store-bought stuff including chilli sauce, packet breadcrumbs, and tinned tomatoes,” they told Newscorp.
“We didn’t think that the curry paste was that much different.”
The pair said they were taken aback by the criticism and being labelled a “cheat” was disappointing.
It’s not the first time contestants have been pulled up for using pre-packaged ingredients, with season four contestants Ali and Samuel from Tasmania also caught out for using curry paste.
Do you think using curry paste is "cheating"?
