Michelle Bridges Reveals She Was Sexually Assaulted As Teen
Michelle Bridges has spoken of how, as an 18-year-old, she was sexually assaulted during a job interview.
The Biggest Loser trainer has opened up about the incident during an interview for Mamamia's No Filter Podcast.
Talking to Mia Freedman, the new mum says she was determined to "put up the best fight possible" when the 45-year-old owner forced himself on her.
"The thing that kept coming into my mind was that I just kept saying to myself, 'This is not going to happen. This is not going to happen. This is so not going to happen. This is not going to be my story,'" she said.
Bridges was applying for a nightclub job when the assault happened in broad daylight.
Following the assault she immediately went to police with her attacker jailed over the incident.
During the trial, Bridges outfit on the day was questioned by the man's lawyer.
"It was actually in court that that came up, his lawyer started bringing into the whole court case what I was wearing," she said.
Bridges later went to therapy over the assault, but was forced to work it out on her own when it became too expensive.
"I think I did, like, three sessions and I thought, 'God, this is so expensive. I'm going to have to work this out for myself.'"
