David Jones Just Made A HUGE Announcement And We CANNOT WAIT

David Jones is about to embark on a $100 million upgrade of its food business over the next three years.

And it means we will be getting a stock of stand-alone branded convenience stores.

The chains brand new concept is being tailored towards shoppers who want food experiences over retail therapy.

The first stage of the ‘journey’ will see a new-look food hall being opened at Westfield Bondi Junction in August before it makes its way to Bourke Street in Melbourne in November.

David Jones' chief executive John Dixon said "Customers want an experience when they shop and food plays a very important function in driving shoppers to the store,"

"We will be offering more private label David Jones products, as well as sourcing the best quality Australian food."

Top chef Neil Perry will work on the new food offerings, which include  beef from Tasmania, wine from Canberra and ham from Marrickville's Black Forest.
