Annie Lennox's Daughter Tali, A Wreck

Annie Lennox's daughter Tali is "a wreck" following the death of her boyfriend Ian Jones, according to his mother.

The body of model/photographer Jones was discovered in the Hudson River in New York on Monday and was officially identified on Tuesday.

The 32 year old's remains washed up near a yacht club a few miles from where he and Tali were kayaking early on Saturday morning.

An autopsy report suggests Jones drowned after the couple's borrowed kayak capsized.

Model/artist Tali Lennox, also known as Tali Lennox-Fruchtmann, was rescued from the Hudson minutes after the accident.

On Tuesday she paid a touching tribute to her partner of two years.

Alongside a photo of the couple, she wrote, "My heart is shattered. My best friend, my soul mate, my partner in crime & creativity, the love & light of my life is no longer with me. "All the love that has been sent to me is giving me the strength to get through this.

"I know that he is so so happy that I was safely rescued. Let us honour & celebrate this beautiful soul & keep following the light."

Now Jones' mother, Sherron, has opened up about the tragedy, revealing Lennox is totally distraught because her beau reportedly died trying to ensure his girlfriend would survive.

"(Tali is) a wreck, she's a mess. She keeps saying she wishes Ian knew she was OK. He died for her. He tried to save her. She wants him to know she is OK," she told

"It was nuts how deeply in love they were."

Jones, who is described as a "deeply spiritual woman", insists she is at "peace" with the death of her only child.

"It's been hard. It's kind of surreal. I feel a real peace about me. I am not falling apart."

Sherron is planning to have her son's body cremated, and she is organising a memorial service at their church in Bensalem, Pennsylvania on Saturday.
