INXS have finally revealed their latest lead singer.
There was much speculation as to who was actually set to join the band when a very mellow and folky song snippet was leaked last week - with everyone from Bono to Gary Lightbody (the bloke from Snow Patrol) rumoured to be the mystery vocalist.
However INXS announced yesterday that their new singer is 35-year-old Ciaran Gribbin. Er...Who? Well an internet search reveals he is a solo artist from Ireland who has collaborated with the likes of Madonna and Paul McCartney.
He joins a long list of singers who have stepped up to the mic after the tragic death of original singer Michael Hutchence in 1997:
Terence Trent D’arby – Wasn’t asked back after wearing a rather dubious white suit when INXS played the opening of Stadium Australia in Sydney during 1998:
Jon Stevens – The Noiseworks singer has fronted the band on and off during the past fourteen years:
J.D. Fortune – Winner of the reality TV series Rock Star : INXS which was created to find the band a new singer during 2005. Was unceromoniously dumped for unknown reasons:
Who do you think has best filled the shoes of Michael Hutchence?
